I have been so busy lately, and I’m starting to feel a little burned out. I’m glad that I’ll be done with my class next week. Today I turned in a book review I’d been putting off literally for months, and I also did an oral presentation on Walden<\/i> and participated in a discussion about the development of the Swedish language (oh yeah, and I also had a little set-to, p\u00e5 svenska<\/i>, with this extremely annoying Romanian girl who’s in my class). Now that those things are done, all I have left is to write an essay about the book of short stories I’m reading, and to give a presentation about the book on Monday. Then I will be well and truly finished! In a way I’m sorry that I won’t be taking any more courses from this instructor — she’s a very good teacher and I’ve enjoyed being in her class.<\/p>\n
While I was in class this afternoon, Olof took the kids and did some holiday shopping. I can hardly believe it myself, but we’re almost done with our present shopping. I think we need to get one more thing for Olof’s sister’s little boy, and I need to get some stuff sent to my mom and my brothers (I’ll take care of that via internet), but the bulk of it is completed. That, at least, is one less thing to worry about. I’m hoping to get my cards addressed and sent out by the end of the week, too, but I’m not making any promises about that. <\/p>\n
Lydia was home sick both yesterday and today, with a fever and general “yuck,” but I’m hoping she’ll feel well enough to go back to school tomorrow. I could really use a quiet day almost to myself, and since Olof is about seventy-five percent on vacation, he could take Tage and let me have some peace for a bit. <\/p>\n
Speaking of Tage, he’s just cute as a bug’s ear! He’s really started talking quite a bit lately, and we’re having a lot of fun with him. If he sees a phone (or even hears the word “phone”), he runs around saying, “hej” over and over. And he also has a new “game” that consists of him saying, “mama?” and me responding, “Tage,” about twenty or thirty times in a row. I especially like that one, although it does get a little tiresome around midnight, when all I want is for him to go to sleep!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
