Tage is such a restless sleeper, and I was up a good portion of the night last night, listening to his tossing and turning. Olof, thanks to a healthy dose of NyQuil, slept obliviously through it all. Even when he’s not medicated, Olof sleeps much more deeply than I do, and I envy his being able to sleep through Tage’s noisiness. At least the baby is fully night-weaned now, and I no longer have to contend with his constant demands to nurse. Now if I could only achieve the same during the day. Actually, he doesn’t nurse that much during the day anymore, either, but I’m really ready for him to stop completely. I just don’t have the heart, though, to force him to quit before he’s ready. He has been taking a v\u00e4lling<\/i> bottle with increasing frequency, so maybe the nursing will fade away sooner rather than later. I can hope, anyway.<\/p>\n
Olof and I were talking a little bit this evening about when we’re going to have another baby. I’ve been thinking that we should start trying when Tage is three, which means a little less than two years from now. It turns out that Olof thinks that’s too long to wait and was thinking that trying a year from now would be better. I don’t think I’ll really be ready that soon (both because I’d like there to be a little bigger gap than two or three years between Tage and the new baby and because I’m still working on losing some weight, and I don’t want to be pregnant again in less than a year), but we haven’t made any firm decisions either way.<\/p>\n
The big thing on my mind right now is the Swedish test on Wednesday. I have the text booklet for it and have been reading up this weekend, and it’s h-a-r-d! For some reason, I didn’t realize until last week that the test I’m taking is the same test that native speakers take at the gymnasie-level. I’m really not sure I can pass it, and that’s stressing me out a little bit. I guess it’s no biggie if I don’t pass, but it wouldn’t be good for my ego. Seriously, though, one of the texts is an excerpt from Lord of the Rings<\/i> and another is a Norwegian poem (in Norwegian). There are just so many words I don’t know, and even if I find out what they mean between now and Wednesday, I’m not at all confident in my ability to write well about these texts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
