It&#8217;s smaller than the one I did for Tage, plus the pattern went much more quickly since it was entirely made up of single crochet stitches, but still, I started and finished the project in less than a week!  Here it is, for your viewing pleasure (again, the colors aren&#8217;t true &#8212; it&#8217;s navy blue, forest green, and pale yellow):<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/home.tjerngren.net\/revelry\/images\/newbabyafghan.jpg\" border=1><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Lydia wants me to make one for her next, and I think I&#8217;ll use the same pattern I used for this one because it&#8217;s so quick and easy.  I&#8217;d like to be able to get it done in a relatively timely manner so that she&#8217;s not the only kid without one.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, Lydia&#8217;s friend Sandra came home with her after school yesterday and Sandra came bearing the starter for another &#8220;friendship cake.&#8221;  It seems as though we&#8217;ve hardly recovered from the one we got from another of her friends a few weeks ago, and now we&#8217;ve got to start all over again.  It&#8217;s not really so much of a hassle to tend the batter and make the cake, but passing four more starters around at the end isn&#8217;t always so easy.  I think this time I may just make up all the portions into cakes and freeze them.
