What is it with this rain? I swear, it has been raining almost non-stop for ten days now! All this gloomy weather is making me feel gloomy myself. I want some sunshine and I want it now! I will deny later that I ever said this, but right now I think I’d be plenty happy to have snow on the ground if we could get some sun in exchange.<\/p>\n
Tonight is going to be a long night, since game 5 of the Braves-Cubs division series is on and it doesn’t start until two in the morning. It’s a do-or-die situation for the Braves (well, for both teams, actually), so there’s no way I can miss it. What makes matters worse is that I have class tomorrow at 8.30, and I really need to be there since I stayed home last Monday. I’m going to be hating life tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n
On the up-side, I finished the writing assignment that’s due tomorrow, and I have it all ready to go (well, except for one little issue that Olof and I are in disagreement about — can any of you Swedish speakers tell me if it should be “sitt liv” or “deras liv” in this sentence: de alldeles nyss hade b\u00f6rjat sitt\/deras nya liv p\u00e5 g\u00e5rden<\/i>. Thanks!) I sometimes wish I were married to a more competent grammarian — it would make learning Swedish much easier!<\/p>\n
Right now, I’m supposed to be on the phone with my mom, but Lydia took the phone from me about fifteen minutes ago and who knows when she’ll return. She looks forward all week to talking to my mom, and she can hardly contain herself once I’ve placed the call. She’d go on talking forever, too, if I’d let her. Usually after twenty minutes or a half-hour I have to interrupt and take back the phone so I have a chance to talk, too!<\/p>\n
So, not much going on around here. I’ve been doing a bit of crocheting lately and I finished a hat for Lydia yesterday. I also started on a scarf to match, but so far it’s slow going. It’s not always easy to get two free hands, not to mention that Tage always wants to grab my yarn and get all tangled up in it.
