I&#8217;m always somewhat resistant to wearing maternity clothes and I put it off until the last possible day, even when I&#8217;ve got a closet full of cute and comfy pregnancy pants.<\/p>\n<p>I think the reluctance is partly due to my poor body image and my feeling that a &#8220;normal-sized&#8221; woman wouldn&#8217;t be so big at this stage of pregnancy.  Also, I&#8217;m not expecially fond of my pregnant shape and I&#8217;d rather keep it under wraps in normal pants and bulky shirts than &#8220;flaunt&#8221; it in maternity wear designed to show off the pregnant belly.  I think that would be different if I had a nice, round pregnant belly, but, much to my disappointment, I seem just to get thicker and thicker, and I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s obvious until the last couple of months that my girth owes its substantial circumference to a growing baby rather than (solely) to increased consumption of cookies and doughnuts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think the time has finally come to admit that my waistline has expanded quite beyond my normal pants&#8217; ability to contain it.
