As I frequently do, I got a craving this afternoon for salted pretzels so I put them on the grocery list I sent with Olof when he went to the store. He came home pretzel-less, explaining that the store had been out of them.<\/p>\n
Just now, a couple of hours later, I looked up at him with my best puppy-dog eyes and told him that I “really, really” wanted pretzels.<\/p>\n
“They didn’t have any,” he reminded me.<\/p>\n
“The convenience store has them,” I said.<\/p>\n
“Are you sure?” he asked. “‘Cause if the grocery store was out and then people went to the convenience store, they might be out, too.”<\/p>\n
I started laughing, “What? Like pretzels are such a hot commodity that everyone’s going out of their way to buy them up?”<\/p>\n
“No, I’m ser-” he began over my laughter. Then he just shook his head and went in to watch TV.<\/p>\n
