In any case, I hope it was a good day for all of you here in Sweden (or anywhere else that the day is celebrated, for that matter).  I was instructed by Lydia to make both saffron buns and gingersnaps, so I spent most of the afternoon baking, only to find out when we got to Olof&#8217;s parents&#8217; house that his mom had told Lydia yesterday that she had just made saffron buns and we didn&#8217;t need to bring anything.  Her habit (Lydia&#8217;s, I mean) of hearing only what she wants to hear is a touch on the annoying side sometimes.<\/p>\n<p>Unnecessary baking aside, however, we had a nice evening with dinner followed by coffee and goodies.  Olof&#8217;s sister, Anna, and her three kids joined in the fun and we took plenty of pictures.
