So my twenty-year high school reunion is coming up this summer (how on earth did that happen?!), and for the past several years I’ve been excitedly planning to go back to Idaho for it. Unfortunately, due to a number of circumstances more or less out of our control, we’ve had to shelve those plans. We’ve crunched and re-crunched the numbers, and keep coming to the same conclusion: it’s really out of our reach.<\/p>\n
I’m disappointed, of course, but I’m not devastated. I think the last couple of months of “will we or won’t we” were harder on me than the disappointment of the actual decision. Still, I was really looking forward to swimming in the Clearwater River this July, and I hate like hell not to take my kids to see the fireworks and the Border Days parade in my hometown on the Fourth. And worst, of course, is missing all of the friends and family I’d been looking forward to catching up with. Bummer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
