We had an appointment this afternoon for a quick ultrasound to check on the baby’s growth, and everything looks just the way it should in there. We tried to get see if we could get a glimpse of boy parts or girl parts, but the baby was not at all cooperative, keeping his\/her legs firmly together, and going so far as to put a hand down in the general area as an additional shield when the midwife zoomed in for a closer look. I’m not terribly disappointed, though, as I do think the surprise is fun and I feel a little relieved now that we didn’t find out the gender just yet. We do have another ultrasound scheduled in four weeks (ah, the perks of “advanced maternal age”), so we’ll have another chance then to sneak a peek, if we’re of a mind. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
