Lydia, Onock, and I took advantage of the rainy weather on Monday and Tuesday and got a fair bit of shopping done.\u00a0 As of yesterday, Lydia is fully outfitted–including shoes and underwear–for the start of school (which is a mere four weeks away, if you can believe it).\u00a0 Of course, that doesn’t mean that she won’t find something more that she absolutely must<\/i> have, or that we won’t make a half-dozen more trips to the mall, at least, before the summer is out, but it’s good to know that all of the necessary shopping has been done.<\/p>\n
It’s hard for me not to feel a little embarrassed when I take my mom shopping, because not only are things so much more expensive here than they are in the States, but we also have the weak dollar to consider.\u00a0 She hasn’t complained about it herself, but I can’t help cringing every time I see a total ring up on a cash register.\u00a0 At least we’ve mostly been hitting the sales, and dollar or no dollar, we have found some pretty good deals.<\/p>\n
At the end of the day, what does my head in most of all is the discovery that my baby girl has grown right on out of children’s sizes and now wears a ladies’ size 6.\u00a0 How on earth did that happen?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
